REAR AXLE BRAKE TEE JUNCTION BLOCK WHICH JOINS THE BRAKE LINES IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE, WAS PAINTED BY MISTAKE. THE PAINT COULD CAUSE LOOSENING OF THE BRAKE HOSE CONNECTION WHICH MAY RESULT IN A BRAKE FLUID LEAK AND LOSS OF REAR BRAKES.
Remedy
DEALER WILL REMOVE PAINT IF NECESSARY AND THEN CHECK TO ENSURE PROPER FUNCTION OF BRAKES.
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MEDIUM TRUCKS.SYSTEM: SERVICE BRAKES; REAR AXLE JUNCTION BLOCK.CONSEQUENCES OF DEFECT: BRAKES WILL CONTINUE TO FUNCTION BUT STOPPING DISTANCEWILL BE INCREASED. IN CIRCUMSTANCES WHERE MINIMUM STOPPING DISTANCE ISREQUIRED, AN ACCIDENT COULD RESULT.
