Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing recall 26V512000
Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2026 bZ Woodland vehicles equipped with a tow converter. An electrical short circuit may occur within the tow converter printed circuit board, which can deactivate the electronic stability control system and cause the brake lights to remain illuminated. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards numbers 126, "Electronic Stability Control Systems for Light Vehicles” and 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
What can happen
Driving with a disabled electronic stability control system or continuously illuminated brake lights can increase the risk of a crash.
Repair
Dealers will replace the tow converter, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 21, 2026. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's numbers for this recall are 26TB15 and 26TA15.
